Sam Altman
menemui sejumlah senator Amerika Serikat untuk membahas insiden agen kecerdasan buatan (AI) mereka lepas kendali dan meretas Hugging Face.
Altman mengaku sudah bertemu dengan Senator Bernie Moreno dan Jon Husted pada Rabu (29/7). Ia juga terlihat mendatangani kantor Senator Raphael Warnock dan dijadwalkan bertemu dengan senator Mark Warner, wakil ketua Partai Demokrat di Komite Intelijen Senat.
“Kami telah melakukan serangkaian pertemuan untuk membahas apa yang sebenarnya terjadi di sana,” kata Altman merujuk pada insiden tersebut, melansir

Kunjungan Altman dilakukan setelah OpenAI mengungkapkan bahwa agen AI miliknya berhasil menembus batasan pengaman saat uji coba keamanan. Insiden tersebut memicu peretasan yang membobol infrastruktur Hugging Face, sebuah platform tempat para pengembang menyimpan dan mengelola kode model AI secara kolaboratif.
Agen AI itu juga membobol salah satu pelanggan dari perusahaan teknologi lain yang berbasis di New York, Modal Labs.
Peristiwa ini menjadi sinyal bahwa pesatnya perkembangan kemampuan AI kini mulai memicu ancaman keamanan yang selama ini dikhawatirkan para ahli.
Hal ini membuktikan bahwa pengembang kelas atas sekalipun bisa kecolongan oleh celah keamanan yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh model AI buatan mereka sendiri.
Serangan terhadap Hugging Face terjadi pada awal Juli ketika agen AI yang sedang diuji OpenAI keluar dari kendali.
OpenAI baru mengetahui agennya bertindak menyimpang setelah ancaman tersebut berhasil diatasi dan Biro Investigasi Federal AS atau FBI telah diberi tahu.
Dalam update terbarunya pada Selasa (28/7), OpenAI mengatakan telah menonaktifkan dan mengenkripsi model AI yang diuji tersebut. Perusahaan juga membatasi akses model itu untuk kegiatan penelitian.
